Great hidden gem! The food was amazing. This is a family business, and everyone has come together to create this small, quaint restaurant with true authentic German food and desserts! I was able to spend a little time with the owners, and they are remarkable people, doing a remarkable thing in this very small town. Our family traveled in from New Braunfels, and it was well worth the drive. Thank you Oma's for making Father's Day so great!

Well let me tell y’all somethin’—Oma’s Schnitzel Ranch is the kind of place that makes you feel like you just walked into your grandma’s kitchen, only she’s from Germany. The food? Lord have Mercy. That Jägerschnitzel was outta this world—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, smothered in that rich, savory mushroom gravy. Yum! Don’t get me started on the green beans—they weren’t just a side dish, they were a whole experience. Perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and packed with so much flavor they could’ve stood on their own as the main course. If you’re lookin’ for a spot that’ll fill your belly, warm your heart, and have you grinnin’ ear to ear on the way out, Oma’s Schnitzel Ranch is it. Do yourself a favor and go—if you leave hungry, that’s on you!

If you've ever had real German food, or are German this place is the real deal. We loved every bite of our food. Loved chatting with Oma Lisa and husband and loved the Schwarwälderkirschtorte and blueberry streusel and bread we took home. I don't even wanna tell anyone how good it was, so we can keep going there and get a table. Danke Lisa, alles war wunderbar. Anke und Tom

Incredible authentic German dishes in little ole Smiley. Our group tried 4 different items with different sides- you just can't go wrong on any choice. I got the mueltischon (sp I'm sure) which looks like oversized ravioli and it was delicious. The big winner was the Jaeger schnitzel- I dream about it now. They have homemade bread that you can buy to eat at the table. The desserts, esp. the blueberry torte, were perfectly not too sweet. We will have to go back. Make reservations!

Ever now and again, I like to eat something other than the norm. I picked a town on Google and looked for a place to eat. 40 minutes later, here I am. The place is in the middle of nowhere. You come into the town, and everything looks closed. Then you see the flags and German sign. That's the place. The inside is small, but they have it set up German style. It's more of a family style of eating. They have big tables or benches to accommodate lots of people. It doesn't matter if you know them or not. They fill the tables. I ordered the Jagerschnitzel with red cabbage and sauerkraut. I also got a cherry and blueberry streusel to take home. While waiting, the lady running the place offered me a glass of wine for free as they didn't have their liquor license as of yet. Shortly after that, she asked me if I was a mom and brought me a rose for Mother's Day. My food came out, and it smelled great. The cabbage and sauerkraut were great. Finally, someone who doesn't add cinnamon or something gross to either one. I liked the schnitzel, but it was a little bland without the gravy. I tried the pastries when I hot home, and they are wonderful. If you like to try new places or are close by, please stop in and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Stopped by for lunch and tried a variety of dishes. The pork medallions were bursting with flavor and the green beans were perfectly tender and seasoned. I also tried the German Goulash and the beef practically melted in my mouth. Highly recommend this restaurant!
